The Equal Opportunity Programs Specialist/Deputy ADA Coordinator [“EOP Specialist”] assists in ensuring compliance with Federal and District of Columbia (DC) equal opportunity/nondiscrimination laws and regulations for the Gallaudet campus including the Clerc Center; including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Rehabilitation Act through the application of best practices; and supports ongoing compliance through prevention, training, education, and timely investigations. Under the direction of the Director of Equal Opportunity Programs, the EOP Specialist conducts timely investigations of discrimination and harassment, including alleged violations of Titles VI, VII, and Title IX, violations of the ADA and Rehabilitation Acts, and DC non-discrimination laws. The EOP Specialist serves as the Deputy ADA Coordinator for Faculty, Staff, and Teachers and provides leadership and support in unit goals and objectives promoting Civil Rights compliance, education, awareness, and training. Collaborates with the University’s General Counsel, Human Resource Services, Clerc Center Human Resources, and other members of the Gallaudet University community in promoting diversity, equity, inclusivity, and accessibility.
